It's Halloween night, and with the weather closing in, Elena finds herself spending the evening at an old country house with a rather intriguing host. There's a roaring fire, a bottle of wine and plenty of conversation. He's charming, a little old-fashioned, and there's something about him that Elena finds hard to resist. Before long, the conversation becomes a little more flirtatious. There's laughter, a few lingering looks and the odd stolen kiss. But there's also something rather unusual about her host. A photograph on the wall, dated 1839, raises a few questions. Questions that perhaps Elena should be asking before she gets too comfortable. As the evening goes on, she starts to realise that her host isn't quite what he seems. And when he finally lets her in on his secret, things take a rather unexpected turn.
